Segerstrom Jaguars

Segerstrom 1  Westminster 0:  Segerstrom squeeqed out a 1-0 win over Westminster in their final regular season game.  Selene Pola struck out 10 and held the Lions to only 3 hits, as she picked up her 9th win of the season.  The Lady Jags scored their run in the top of the 7th inning.  With 2 outs, Marleen Rodriguez singled and advanced to 2nd base on an error, and then stole 3rd.  Aimee Madrid singled into right field to score Rodriguez from 3rd.  The Lions came close in the bottom of the 7th, but the Jags came up with a big play and the runner was thrown out at the plate.  Segerstrom 8-2, 18-8 

Segerstrom 11  Santa Ana 0:  The Lady Jags having lost a game to Santa Ana on errors in the first round of league play were looking to avenge themselves today.  Selene Pola pitched a masterful game, striking out 9 and giving up only 2 hits to the Lady Saints.  The Jaguars took care of business early scoring 2 runs in the 2nd, 5 in the 3rd, and added another 4 runs in the 4th inning.  Segerstrom scored 11 runs on 14 hits, defeating the Saints 11-0.

Segerstrom 10  Orange 5:  Segerstrom battled Orange for the right to take sole possession of 2nd place in the Goldenwest League.  Segerstrom led 3-1 at the end of four and added another run in their half of the 5th inning.  The Lady Panthers refused to quit and came up with 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to go ahead of the Lady Jags 5-4.  The Jags went into the top of the 7th inning trailing 5-4. 

Segerstrom 1  Oceanview 0:  The Lady Jags stop the streak and jolt the Seahawks!  This was a tremendous win for Segerstrom and for the Lady Jags softball program.  Oceanview has given the Lady Jags a tough time ever since Segerstrom came into the league.  However, Segerstrom has continued to show great improvement each year, and has been the team that has given the Seahawks their most competitive games.
